MSTB is seeking a Commissioning Professional to join our growing team. We specialize in providing commissioning services for a diverse range of projects, including large-scale commercial, institutional, and government buildings.

Job Overview:

Review project owner documents, plans, specifications, and design documents.
Inspect building systems (mechanical, electrical power, plumbing, fire protection, building automation, access control, building enclosure).
Develop and execute commissioning test plans and procedures.
Report commissioning activities, findings, and recommendations.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and building owners to resolve commissioning issues and ensure project success.
Stay current on industry codes, standards, and best practices.

What You Bring to the team:

Background in one or more of the following disciplines: building enclosure, mechanical, electrical power, plumbing, and/or fire protection/detection systems.
Hands-on experience in commissioning, construction inspection, validation, measurement and verification, or a related field within the A/E/C industry.
Ability to identify and analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear and concise reports.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Ability to navigate active construction sites, including walking, climbing ladders, and occasional usage of lifts.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Commissioning Professional or Licensed Engineer.
4+ years of commissioning experience
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Experience with LEED or other sustainability certifications.
Familiarity with building codes and industry standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Construction Management Software, and Commissioning Software platforms.

Additional requirements

Valid driver’s license.
Ability to pass a background check and obtain military base clearance.
Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Travel Up to 75% local travel in Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia. Limited overnight stays. Most weeks include multiple site days plus time for reporting and closeout documentation.
